Ethics and Event Planning

Ethics and Event Planning – maintaining a code of conduct:

A professional experience is integral for every event relationship. It is important to abide by certain codes of conduct to ensure you are professional and that the client knows you are creating an organized and unique experience for them and their attendees.

The very best planners go above and beyond no matter the obstacle or issue and there should be no question as to how the event planner or their team should behave during an event. So here are some codes of conduct we feel every event planner should keep in mind when working on any event.

Maintain Professionalism

Everyone will remember how the event team handled themselves leading up to and during an event. We are the go-to people for every piece of information on everything and everyone. So always remember to keep your composure, remain level headed and study to ensure you have all the information you need at all times just in case something pops up.

Ultimate Customer Service

America is a little unique in its approach to customer service – but that’s just how it should be. The right customer service goes a long way in this business not just to set up vendors and get great deals but more importantly to forge amazing lasting relationships with clients who will remember you the next time they want to plan and event. Things happen, so remember its business, not personal, so stay positive, keep to your values and be responsible and compassionate at all times.

Avoid Business Risks

Don’t take kick backs or bribes and don’t show a lack of professionalism if you’re feeling overwhelmed while planning an event. It is important to keep communication open and educate your team on safe guarding your business reputation by reviewing company goals, behaviors and professional conduct. If you’re working an evening event, remember you are still on the clock – so keep the professionalism up even when it’s tempting to relax. Remember to always be a role model in the company.
